When writing up a proposal for you, there are four things I need to know:

1. Do you have a preference for digital vs traditional? If traditional, what medium? Choice of medium will significantly impact the timeline and pricing of a commission.
2. Do you have a specific reference photo you'd like me to work from? It's totally okay if not! I am happy to get an idea of what you are interested in, and utilize my own references. If you do provide a reference, you must have rights to the image (or express permission from the photographer, in writing, that you can send me). The quality of the reference image does impact the quality of the final piece, so I recommend high resolution, natural lighting, and minimal lens distortion.
3. If you're interested in a piece of traditional art, would you like me to handle matting and framing? If so, I can include more information and estimated cost of custom framing in your quote.
4. If traditional, do you have a size preference? Sometimes this is dictated by the reference and the chosen medium, but if you're trying to fill a specific space on your wall, let me know!

I'll then put together a proposal for you, and we can go from there!

I bill an hourly flat fee for website development and maintenance. I can also manage your domain and hosting setup for an annual fee.

I specialize in static portfolio sites for creators that carry a minimal monthly or recurring cost. This site, for example, costs $8/year for the domain and $0 for hosting.

For visual art, content writing, and editing: no, not at any stage.

In the domain of fine arts and literature, I believe that when we sacrifice the creative process on the altar of expedience, our message loses its credibility entirely. Therefore, no AI is involved in the ideation or realization of any of my own art and prose. When I create a piece of visual art (whether digital or traditional):

• I am manually gathering and compositing references — (to the best of my knowledge, I will always avoid usage of AI-generated reference images)
• I do not use AI tools to assist in the process of creation. For digital art, I work primarily in Procreate, which has zero AI integrations, and my paintings are entirely human-made, stroke-for-stroke

When I'm writing, editing, and formatting (my own work or yours):

• I do not use AI tools to write, analyze, suggest, or format
• Your work will never be exposed to a bot

For web development: yes, but with limits.

I do believe there is room for AI tools in the realm of software engineering. Code generation with AI assistance allows me to put together websites at lower cost to you (because I'm spending fewer hours developing the site layout and the software architecture behind it). I've been a web developer much longer than generative AI has been commercially available, and code cleanliness, performance, and maintainability are important to me when designing your site.

• I do not compromise good development practices when it comes to AI usage
• I will not expose your content to an AI agent without express permission. I am more than happy to create your site template using placeholder content, and then manually go in and wire up your personal content, so that the bot never sees it.
• I will not use AI to generate your website's content unless you specifically request it.

Traditional: Graphite, charcoal, chalk pastel, oil on canvas, watercolor, and mixed media.

Digital: Procreate on iPad. All digital work is painted stroke-for-stroke — no generative tools or filters.

Yes — I can ship original traditional pieces worldwide. Shipping cost and handling will be included in your commission quote. Custom framing and matting is only available for pieces destined within the US or Canada.

Digital commissions are delivered as high-resolution files, and I can also provide archival prints of digital work upon request.

Standard commissions are for personal use only. Commercial licensing (for products, branding, publications, etc.) is available — just mention it when you reach out so I can include it in your quote.
